Sorry if this all seems rather convoluted. SO, I guess the TL:DR is - using a Harmony 665 with Flirc USB and Fire TV Stick 4K, is there any sort of configuration I can get working where while I'm in the Fire TV device actions on my Harmony remote, I can get the volume up / down to control the receiver volume as well in the same way the Fire TV remote would with the receiver added as additional hardware? Any time I want to change the volume I have to switch to the receiver device on harmony remote, change volume, then switch back to the Fire TV device to control it again.Switch Harmony remote to Fire TV and select what I want.Switch Harmony remote to receiver device and power on receiver.Select TV on harmony remote devices and power on TV which switches to Fire Stick input automatically on power-on as per my config.Rather what I have to do with the harmony remote is: However with the Harmony remote if I press volume up while in the Fire TV device actions nothing changes (expected I suppose). With the fire TV remote if I pressed volume up it would turn the volume up on the receiver as it was connected as additional hardware. The receiver is connected via optical audio. However the one thing it can't do so far that the Fire TV remote can do is control the volume on my receiver. I've got this almost completely set up and the TV stick is working fairly well with the Flirc USB and Harmony remote.
I therefore highly recommend getting the Pro if you want to integrate it as a source in a home. The FLIRC needs a USB port, so the only model able to offer integration is the Pro as the 'tube' doesnt have USB ports. If I have any TV settings to change I can't do that using the fire remote, I have to use my actual TV remote. The Fire TV remote has very limited functionality with this receiver, so if I want to change any of the sound settings I basically have to do it using the Harmony remote or on the receiver physically. This gets the job done but unfortunately isn't enough. Previously I configured the receiver as additional hardware in the Fire TV Stick and would use the Fire TV remote to power on my TV and receiver and control the volume on my receiver. I ONLY use the Flirc fire tv device for the home button on the lcd screen of my harmony one. I also have a Yamaha surround sound receiver. The only way I was able to have the home key work was to add TWO devices to my harmony remote: Flirc kodi AND Flirc fire tv. Now I'm recently trying to get everything set up using the Flirc USB. I have a Fire TV Stick 4K and a Harmony 665 remote that I haven't been using as I couldn't find an IR receiver that worked with the fire stick as well as I'd like it to. I've been digging into this a bit myself and am still working on it but as part of my poking around the internet I wanted to see if anyone here has a similar situation as myself and wondering what other set ups might have to get this to work.
